The River Varicose

I was checking out my legs in the mirror this morning, hoping that the spin, Pilates, and BODYPUMP workouts I've been doing lately (okay, sporadically) were working. Instead of seeing muscle tone (though there was some), I saw something blue. I followed it as it snaked and looped and swerved all around my left leg and my right leg.

Varicose veins!!! I was horrified.

#1, because they are ugly. U-G-L-Y!
#2, because veins gross me the F out.

I know, I know. I shouldn't be surprised. I am pushing 40, you know. Still, I think it is bad enough that I have cherry angiomas all over my belly.

There is going to be some serious lasering taking place sometime in the future. And Botoxing and Restalyne-ing.

Aches and Pains

So in August, we bought a new house. As far as I am concerned, I could live here until I am 99 and a half - it makes me that happy. The only problem (besides the white kitchen counters that are impossible to keep clean) is the fact that the house has travertine flooring throughout (except in the bedrooms).

Don't get me wrong...it's beautiful! The problem is that it is wreaking havoc on my bones. All those car accidents from back in my teens and 20s have caught up to me and I feel like I actually am 99 and a half. I can't walk on it with bare feet because I have two neuromas in each of my feet, which I am being treated for - again - with alcohol injections in the nerves (pain you cannot fathom). So most of the time I am either in ugly-ass crocs or orthopedic flip-flops.

I think back to the days when I used to be able to jump out of bed and have energy to go straight to the gym. Not anymore. I get out of bed, put on my shoes, and walk around like an old lady until my joints loosen up.

I am hoping that getting back in the gym and weight training will help. I am too young to feel this old and I really don't look good in crocs.

Not SAHM Material

S attends a home daycare, which has been great. When he was attending the big daycare center, the poor kid was sick all of the time and since we switched in June, he's only been sick once. What sucks is that she takes the week between Christmas and New Years off. Even worse, my mom doesn't help out with the kids anymore, my babysitter is visiting family out of state, and my mother-in-law hurt her back.

The good thing about this is that I have been able to spend time with the boys. I love my boys. They are absolutely delicious when they are good. Usually when they are home though, they are fighting and whining. I can handle a little of this, but after 4 days, I am done.

This makes me feel very guilty, I can assure you. I happened to open a magazine and read a story about a boy receiving palliative care because it's inevitable he will die. I bawled like a baby and considered myself so very lucky to have two healthy children. And then J screams at me because he lost at Super Mario Brothers that "it's all my fault" because I was talking to S...or some crazy nonsense like that and the moment is gone.

I always daydreamed about being a SAHM. Now I know that I could never do it full-time (though part-time would be great). Maybe it's because I'm not structured enough during the day with them. Maybe I would run a tighter ship if I had to do it all of the time, I don't know. All I know is that I am definitely not SAHM material, regardless of how much I love my children. I have great appreciation for SAHMs everywhere - it is indeed the hardest job anyone can undertake.

A Wrinkle in Time

There have been millions of times when I have said, "I need to update my blog" since the last time I actually did, but alas, I can never get to the computer to do so when it's on my mind. Today though, I was actually at the computer so I can finally post something when I actually have something to say.

I turned 38 a few weeks ago and I kid you not, the second I did it was like God flipped a switch on my face and I am developing wrinkles at a rapid pace. What kills me is that I've spent thousands of dollars over time to take care of my skin - creams, serums, facials, etc. and my skin is no better than my husband's - also 38 - who does none of these things (thank God, or we'd be broke).

For my class reunion earlier this year, I tried Botox. Loved the effects it had on my forehead, until I forgot to tell my acupuncturist about it and she stuck needles there. Apparently, acupuncture draws out toxins. Who knew?!? I had them add some under and around my eyes and wasn't happy with the results but somehow made it to the reunion looking halfway decent. Still, I think I'm too young to become a Botox junkie. Maybe I should try another doctor?

An hour after I had my first Botox treatment, I looked in the mirror and noticed that one eyelid was drooping lower than the other. I freaked out (did you happen to see the episode of Modern Family where Al Bundy gets Botox?) and called the plastic surgeon's office. They said it couldn't have been from the Botox that soon...and they were right. Six months later and I still have it. My neurologist ran all kinds of diagnostic tests (blood work, MRI, MRA, etc.) and all came back negative for a medical cause. It very likely was from the Topamax I was taking for my migraines.

So here I am with a deep wrinkle in my chin, one starting on my nose, crepey skin under my eyes, major smile lines and ptosis of the eyelid. I am regretting every day I went out in the sun with baby oil and iodine in my teenage years and every second I spent in tanning beds in my 20s to look hot for a night out or a special occasion.

I guess I should be grateful that I've made it to 38, considering all of the stupid things I did in my youth. And I suppose I should be thrilled that visits to the dermatologist have not yet turned up squamous or melanoma skin cancers. But tell that to my vanity gene. All it cares about are the wrinkles.

Sigh.

Disney Karma

About a month ago, I decided to take J to Disney World. My place of employment offers discounted tickets (you save around $27), so I bought a ticket for myself there. I decided I was going to be sneaky and get J in as a child under 3 because a) he's small for his age, b) they charge almost as much as an adult ticket for a 4-year old, and c) we don't go there very often. I figured it would be a piece of cake because I'd be going straight in without having to stop and buy a ticket.

Disney Karma is a bitch, my friend...as I forgot my ticket and had to buy one for myself anyhow. Still, I refused to buy a ticket for J (and they are not allowed to ask how old your child is if there is any doubt that they could be under 3)...and actually, I didn't feel guilty about it because I ended up buying two tickets anyhow.

We went to the Magic Kingdom and had a fabulous time.

As the weeks passed, I couldn't just throw away a perfectly good $60 ticket to Disney, so I decided to bring J back - this time taking him to Animal Kingdom. I made sure I did not forget my ticket and away we went one bright, sunny Wednesday morning.

We got up to the turnstile and I put my ticket in the machine. The lady shook her head and said, "No, no. This ticket has already been used." I started to argue with her...I was incredulous. "What?!? No! There is no way!" Then, I looked at the ticket...it was the one I had bought a few weeks earlier at the Magic Kingdom. D'oh!

So, back I went to the ticket booth to buy another ticket. This time, the nice lady talked me into buying a 4-park pass (good through May 26) and even let me know that I could upgrade to an annual weekday pass for about $35 more.

So the following Sunday, I convinced hubby to come with me to bring J and S to Epcot. He used my $60 ticket and I used a punch on the 4-park pass (2 more to go now). All we did while we were there was eat (and eat and eat and eat).

Trust me, even if my 4-year old is getting in for free, Disney Karma has seen to it that Disney is getting paid. Disney always gets paid! And I'm sure I'll be going back and upgrading my ticket to the weekday annual pass. By the end of the year, I'll be wearing Minnie ears and a lanyard with pins as I stroll through the park with the rest of the freaks (just kidding - I would never do that)!

Allergies!

So far this week is a vast improvement upon the last - knock on wood!!! The boys are healthy, and for me, that means everything.

Hubby left the windows open on Saturday though and the pollen is kicking my ass. He has been blessed without seasonal allergies, so my love just doesn't understand my suffering. I was up all night coughing up green aliens and have an annoying cough that makes people scoot away from me as though I have the plague.

I think the Spring makes me more miserable than any other season for this reason...for one, it's beautiful outside and with daylight savings, there is time to go outside and enjoy the weather; but, it's like the devil offering an apple because as soon as I do, I am suffering.

Signed,
Can't wait for Summer!

Week from Hell

Let me share a little about my week from hell...

Last Friday, S. was diagnosed with Hand, Foot, & Mouth Disease...

Saturday, J. was diagnosed with it.

Sunday, J. developed painful blisters in his mouth and wouldn't eat or drink anything - this lasted through Wednesday.

Monday, I developed blisters in my mouth.

Tuesday, I took him to the doctor and in addition to HF&M Disease, she said she thought he might also have Fifth Disease.

Wednesday, S. came down with another fever so I brought him to the doctor. He was diagnosed with pink eye, an upper respiratory infection, and an ear infection. He was prescribed antibiotics (for the second time in 2 weeks), a steroid, and nebulizer treatments daily for the next few weeks with pumocort and albuterol.

Thursday, I finally got J. to school, but kept S. home with me. When attempting to take his temperature, he scratched the white of my left eye - HARD! Pain like I've not experienced in a long time! My doctor called in a script for hydrocodone for pain and antibiotic eye drops. After taking 3x the recommended dose of hydrocodone, I was able to finally sleep without pain.

This morning, the kids seemed to feel better so they went to school. I went to the opthamologist and was diagnosed with a corneal abrasion. In addition to the drops, I also have to take an antibiotic ointment - in my eye.

This evening, S. developed slapped cheeks and is starting to get a rash on his legs -- he also has a low-grade fever. Logic tells me that it's Fifth Disease.  Yes, it's mild, but c'mon now! Enough is enough!

Trying to figure out where all of this bad karma is coming from...thinking it might have something to do with me being a brat when I was a kid. If so, I'm screwed.

Home Sweet Home

We made it home from our family vacation yesterday, in the early evening. The remainder of the week went by pretty much as the beginning had, with me and the baby indoors while everyone else played outside. A few exceptions: one afternoon, I had lunch with a friend who recently moved to the area and has a son who is three weeks younger than S. Then, our last day in town was spent in Wilmington, where we had lunch at the Pilot House and spent the afternoon at the Children's Museum. J. had an absolute blast there, which was apparent by the size the tantrum he threw when we left. While in Wilmington, we also drove by the house where my grandmother lived while my grandfather was deployed during World War II - I found the address on letters addressed to her from him that she had saved.

The trip home was yet again a reminder of why people with small children really shouldn't take road trips. J. made us stop every 90 minutes to pee. At two of the places we stopped, he had tantrums because we wouldn't buy him lollipops or gum. He fell asleep for a duration of the trip from all of the screaming and crying and ended up having an accident all over his carseat - wardrobe change!

As for S., every time he got hungry, I'd have to contortion myself to feed him and beg J. not to put his feet on my arms. We couldn't find anymore ready-made formula in North Carolina, so I had to mix in the car, so the front seat was covered in formula powder and rice cereal flakes. Then, there was the spitting up and occasional vomiting, which called for new bibs...not fun to change while baby is strapped into a car seat! And he kept dropping his binky, so I'd have to keep looking for it. Had we gotten into an accident, the odds that I would have been turned around would have been very high - not a pleasant thought! Anyhow, he also had several very stinky mustard poops which called for immediate changing and usually also - wardrobe change!

But we are home now - thank God! Tomorrow is J.'s first day of pre-school and S. has an appointment with his gastroenterologist, plus I am back to work. There should seriously be a mandatory extra week vacation for either a) just the parents or b) just the mom at a day spa!!!

Beach Vacation...Ugh

When I get back to work on Monday and people ask me, "Did you have a nice vacation?," I haven't decided yet if I will lie and say, "It was nice" just to avoid a conversation, or tell the truth.

Okay, it's not that it's been AWFUL awful...just that it's been, eh.

First off, now that we're here, I'm thinking, WHY are we here? We live at the beach, so why do we need to vacation at the beach, especially when it's a 7-9 hour drive from home?

Secondly, we are here in a house with some people that we don't even know! It's my husband and children, my sister in law, her boyfriend and his two teenage children, his sister, and his mother, along with my sister in law's best friend and her son. They are not bad people, but my sister in law's boyfriend's mom smokes -- enough said.

Third, I have been stuck inside 99% of the time. For one thing, S. is really too small to be out in the heat for too long, even under a tent. To make things worse, I'm on doxycycline for perioral dermatitis that I got from toothpaste (another story for another day), so I can't be out in the sun. The one hour that I spent in the pool during the day, I ended up nauseous and in bed early.

So, I've spent my days doing what I would do at home...laundry, dishes, take care of the baby, comb the internet, play on Facebook, clean up dirty diapers and spit-up, etc. The only difference is that my husband is spending the day on the beach all day with J. and I am just a little bit jealous because of it.

It's not all bad...don't get me wrong. But for the most part, I just wish we'd saved our money and gone someplace where we could have enjoyed doing things together.

Plato's Closet: The Aging Authority

So, I had some gently used clothes to get rid of. They were too nice to donate, so I decided to consign them. I could have taken them to a regular consignment shop, but I decided to give Plato's Closet a try because I kept hearing about how they handed you cash for your clothes, a much better concept, methinks.

First off, I made the mistake of going there with the baby. He wasn't feeling too well and was getting hungry, which had the makings for a time bomb. Still, I decided to risk it.

I walk up with my bag of clothes and hand them to one of the girls at the counter. She has me fill out a small form and show her my driver's license (why, I didn't understand, but it all will make sense at the end of my story). She then tells me it will be 25 minutes, so I decide to comb in aisles.

I find a few treasures...some Seven for All Mankind jeans for $40 with the tags still on them, some cute t-shirts, but nothing that really says "buy me!"

And then, S.'s hunger kicks in and the screaming begins, so I am walking around trying to soothe him, while the girl hasn't even gotten to my stuff yet, so I am getting aggravated. 25 minutes comes and goes.

Finally, after about 40 minutes, she starts rifling through my things. She takes them out of the bag, puts them back in the bag, and calls my name. She tells me, "I'm sorry, we can't use any of these things."

Okay, mind you...they are NICE clothes! Calvin Klein, Donna Karen, and Banana Republic pants - maybe worn once! Michael Kors, Ann Taylor, and Express tops!

She tells me, "These styles are a little too mature. Our primary customers are teens and young adults in their 20s."

"So," I say, "What about this dress?" pulling out a hardly worn dress that I bought in the juniors department at Dillards. "I bought this in the juniors department."

She says, "We only buy clothing that has been in the stores within a year."

So I am doubly insulted by hearing that not only are my clothes "old" in style but they are "old" in trend as well! She proceeds to hand me a $2 coupon and sends me on my way with my big-ass bag of clothes and a crying baby to boot.

I seethed about it all night. Especially since there were some clothes in there that I bought a few months ago but I can't wear anymore because I have lost so much weight. I just wasn't going to argue with her anymore...for what? $5 cash?!? No thank you!

What also pissed me off was the assumption that young people don't want to dress nicely. Those pants I had were khaki pants, which would have been great for a college student to wear for work or to school.

Were some of the styles a little more mature for that age group? Yes, but certainly not all of them. I really think she had me marked as soon as she looked at my driver's license. And when I left, I am sure she rolled her eyes at the "huffy old mom and her old clothes" or whatever.

But I will probably be back for those Seven jeans when I lose the rest of my baby weight, $2 coupon in hand! Ha ha.

Mold Issues

I have been a bad girl.

Things just got so crazy and my maternity leave got away from me. It all started a few weeks into my maternity leave when we discovered a mold infestation in our house. It’s a long story, but the quick and dirty version is that the builder didn’t seal the stucco on the house and to make things worse, they thinned the paint to save money, so when the house started to settle and cracks started to form, water started seeping into the house, starting with Tropical Storm Fay back in 2008.

We had a guy come out to fix some floor boards that were damaged from T.S. Fay and when he started ripping up the flooring, he discovered mold. He ended up ripping up the flooring in 3 rooms. We had to get a mold removal specialist to come out – they removed a foot of drywall from the walls, along with the baseboards. We had to move out and live at my husband's aunt’s condo on the beach for a week (such torture – ha ha). When we moved back in, things still weren’t fixed, but the mold was gone. It would have been fine except that my husband had kept the windows open and the house had tons of pollen in it so our allergies were insane.

The whole thing was just a mess. They finally just painted and sealed the house, repaired the flooring and fixed the drywall about a week ago. We still have an air purifier going 24/7 because the drywall dust got into the a/c vent upstairs, but it’s getting better.

The whole ordeal has been a nightmare to say the least. I don’t think we will ever buy another brand-new house ever again, or at least not one from a cookie-cutter builder.

Time for a Change

So my son has been going to an in-home daycare for the last two years. It's worked out really well for us for the most part, so we've kept him there. I'd always been pretty good friends with the girl who takes care of J, and I felt good about the fact that she was so competent at her job.

Things started to change about a month ago, when my husband came home from dropping J off to tell me that her child might have H1N1. Nothing was confirmed, but it was a possibility. I was upset with my husband for leaving him there, but also upset with her for not letting us know, considering that I am pregnant. Later that morning, she found out that it wasn't H1N1, but I was still upset that I wasn't given notice. Had it been me dropping J off, I would not have left him there. Later that day, she called me, angry because I had said something about it that got back to another parent; a guy who happens to work in my office. I explained why I was upset about the whole thing and she just couldn't see my point of view.

After that, things just haven't been the same. Yesterday, I was a few minutes late picking J up and even though she was busy talking to other parents and there were still other kids there, she made a comment about it to my husband (not me) this morning.

It just seems like there is always some kind of drama...if it's not involving me, it's involving other parents and somehow I end up hearing about it (which means she is also complaining about me to the other parents). I cannot go through this for another 4+ years with the new baby, so I decided to make a phone call.

There is a daycare center in the area I kept hearing about from people. It gets rave reviews for their educational programs, staff, cleanliness and cost. I went ahead and called and found out that not only is it about the same price as what I am paying, but that they also provide a square meal for lunch and two snacks during the day. Additionally, they are open until 6:00pm, which would allow me to be more flexible with my work hours. They also offer VPK, which means I wouldn't have to be picking my son up in the middle of the day to take him to daycare. Another plus...it's located about 10 minutes from our house, and is directly on my way home from the office, if ever I have to go in.

The only downside is that there is a wait list. I went ahead and had J put on the list, along with the new baby. They don't expect any openings until May or June, which is perfect for the baby, but a ways to wait for J.

Anyhow, in the meantime, my husband and I will be going over there sometime to check the place out. I NEVER thought I would be excited about sending my child to daycare, but surprisingly, I am.

Can't a Pregnant Lady Get a Clean House?!?

So I've gotten to the point where cleaning just isn't happening. At least not without inflicting pain on myself or making me tired, so I decided to call in a professional.

The first lady I called gave me an estimate over the phone and told me she would be over the following day at 12. Noon came and went, as did 1, and then 2. I called her twice to find out if she was still coming and she never called me back. The last time I called her, I let her have it for not having the professionalism to at least tell me she couldn't make it. To this day, I've not heard back from her.

After she flaked out, I called a girl I used to work with who does cleaning on the side. I had hoped that since she knew me she would give me a fair price, but also do a good job. Well, the price was fair, but I got a little less than I paid for...she skipped all three of the bathtubs and didn't really scrub anything that she did actually clean. I actually ended up cleaning the tubs and the laundry room floor myself just to keep my husband from going ape shit on the girl.

Needless to say, we're back to square one in trying to find someone who will do a decent job of cleaning the house (and who will actually show up).

Bad Morning

Everything was going fine as I drove J to his first Little Gym class until I couldn't find the place. I looked everywhere, up and down the road where it was supposed to be, but apparently I missed it. To make matters worse, my phone was dead and the car charger wasn't working, so I couldn't call them to get the location or to let them know the situation.

I was so frustrated and upset, I even cried. Hormones? Probably.

I decided to run to my office to use the phone there, and wouldn't you know, I had the wrong set of keys so I couldn't get in. At this point, I was about to lose it, which actually did happen when J started asking me for candy that I didn't have. After about the 5th time he asked, I screamed at the top of my lungs. Usually something like this would bring him to tears, but he just looked at me like, "Oh shit, I'd better be quiet" and stopped asking.

Afterwards, when I was able to get some deep breaths in and calm down, I apologized for yelling at him. I really do hate when my temper flares out of control. It doesn't happen often, but it's never a good thing.

So anyhow, when I finally got home and called them to let them know the situation, would you believe I got their damn voicemail? So even if I would have called while I was looking, I probably wouldn't have been able to get in touch with someone anyhow. I left a message and will reschedule for Monday if I can, but man, what a bad morning!

This is it! (okay, now that Kenny Loggins song is stuck in my head)

I'll be leaving in a bit to take J to the babysitter's and then have to pick up hubby because he is working a case today and won't have time to meet me at home. Then it's off to retrieve some eggs!

I keep going back and forth between being calm and being anxious. This has been a very stressful week, which is certainly not ideal. I made the mistake of looking at some IVF blogs last night and couldn't seem to find any with happy endings, which is not a good thing right before bed. Realistically, I know my chances are good. But some doubt is to be expected, right?

It was so much easier trying to conceive when we didn't have J. I love him more than my own life and am so very grateful for him, so let me explain. I mean, there is not much opportunity to truly relax. I love my husband dearly, but instead of taking J. in the other room when I am trying to rest because I don't feel well, he will continually say, "J., stop that!," which just adds to my stress levels.

He was in the room when the IVF nurse explained that this afternoon I am to rest and cannot operate machinery, yet last night, he felt it was perfectly reasonable to assume that I could drive my car back after he picked up his car this afternoon. Um, no. No, I cannot drive. I need to sleep, or at the very least, vegetate. Everything I am doing right now will be in vain if I cannot relax at least a little bit. And I swear, he was A LOT more sensitive to these things when we were trying the first time.

But I digress...

Anyhow, I feel better now that I have vented. Off to get the little one ready so we can start our exciting day!

Great, just...great

Sorry if this is TMI.

I started the pill last week and am on CD11. I've had my period since CD1 (CD = cycle day, for those not in the know). I called the IVF nurse to let her know that this was not normal and that I was concerned and she told me to call her back on Monday of next week (yes, a week later) if I was still bleeding.

Last night before bed, I started getting heart palpitations. I had a terrible night's sleep (see the time?), with an awful headache. I feel very weak and it's pretty much a given that I now have anemia.

I'm going to call them this morning as soon as I can to get in. I am just hoping it is a mild case that will not push back my IVF cycle.

What's nearly as bad, we have tickets to go see No Doubt tonight and I am going to be upset if I feel like crap for it! Especially since my mother-in-law is taking J. for the night and we are staying in a hotel!

Ka-dunk-a-dunk

I am grateful that today is my last day on Lupron for a few weeks, as I am hoping that it will help me to lose the weight I've gained in the last few weeks. In the past week, I started busting out of my size 6s and I have hardly any pants that fit. If I don't watch it, I'll be breaking out the maternity clothes before I'm even pregnant!

Queen for a Day?

While this year's Mother's Day wasn't nearly as bad as last year's, I certainly don't feel all that special. J. kept me up half the night and has been cranky as hell all day. To make things worse, *I* am cranky as hell too from a combination of stress, lack of sleep, and the fact that my child is cranky. Oh, and he puked all over me earlier today. Good times!

My husband got me a subscription to US Weekly, which was very thoughtful because I am into celeb gossip. He is also cooking dinner for both of our moms, my dad, and his grandmother tonight, which is very considerate of him. That said, there was no royal treatment today. No breakfast in bed, no "hey, why don't you sleep in while I take care of J.," etc. I just don't think he gets it. Last year, I didn't even get a gift so we are making progress, but it appears that this is going to be something that I have to teach him over time.

It's a good thing that I have gotten used to pampering myself...I treated myself this week to a massage and a mini-shopping spree at Sephora. I also got a new Coach bag, which I love, love, love. Still, I wish hubby would get that if he did things like that for me, I probably wouldn't spend half of what I do on myself because the need would be getting met.

Men.

J.'s first trip to the ER

At around 3am this morning, J. woke up with a barking cough and his breathing was raspy and sounded like he was wheezing.

I threw him in the car and called the walk-in pediatrics clinic - they were closed so we headed to the local ER. Note tht there are three ERs in our general area. I chose the one that was closest and that least likely to have me waiting along with gun shot victims.

We got there and OF COURSE, his breathing improved. I swear, this ALWAYS happens. A good thing, of course, but it makes me feel like I am crazy. Well, they took us anyhow and ordered up a chest x-ray. Overall, J. was pretty good. He fussed minimally, though he was very squirmish. The worst part was that in my haste I forgot to bring a clean pull-up and he wet through the one he had. It turned out to be a good potty training lesson though because I had him peeing every 10 minutes in the bathroom to keep from having a real issue on my hands.

The x-ray came back clear, but when J. coughed, the doctor diagnosed him with croup. He was given a steroid and we were pretty much sent on our way. All of this took about 3 hours.

What killed me about the hospital was that while the nurse and the doctor were friendly, the rest of the staff were dreadful! Couldn't crack a smile to save someone's life (literally). I swear, they were giving me dirty looks...either for merely existing in their space or because I didn't have on make-up. Who knows. The billing clerk, who was somewhat unfriendly at first, finally warmed up when J. started asking for a lollipop. But then, she made me want to crawl under a rock and cry for days when she told me that her grandson, who is J.'s age, has cancer and is being treated for a brain tumor.

Hospitals are such happy places.

Hubby is out of town so of course, something like this was destined to happen! I think I am going to create a blog category called "When Hubby is Away" because seriously, things like this WAIT to happen until he goes out of town. Examples include my dog nearly dying of pancreatitis, me getting into a car accident when I was 19 weeks pregnant with J., a fire engulfing the woods surrounding our neighborhood, and fire alarms going out throughout the house and having no way to turn them off. I am certain there are others.

So now it's 9:00am - I am operating on 4 hours of sleep and SOOOOO looking forward to the massage and acupuncture treatments I have scheduled for today! It's my Calgon.

Superfood

I was eating so healthy today...

Had cantaloupe for breakfast, superfood trail mix and superfood granola with organic yogurt for lunch, and a wheatgrass shot for a snack...

Then, I come into the office and it's someone's birthday so I blow my short-lived health kick on cake.

Damn office.
