18 months!

At 18 months, J. is an amazing little boy. And yes, he is definitely a little boy, not a baby anymore (unless you consider the fact that he still takes his milk exclusively by bottle because we can't get him to drink it out of a sippy cup or that we can't wean him from his binky).

J. is saying all kinds of words now...he really started talking just a month or so ago and now it seems that he says a few new words every few days. He says: mama, dada, nana, grandma, his name, apple, cookie, shoe, bowl, ball, pool, light, chair, table, sit, milk, blue, baby, bear, koala, bird, bye-bye, go, good, purple, car, train, wow, yay, dog, sun, tree, clock, flower, and probably a few more than I am not remembering offhand.

He is a little smarty pants. He can look at a picture of himself or see himself in the mirror and know that it is him now. He understands everything we say to him, even though he doesn't always choose to listen to us.

He is extremely affectionate and sweet. He is very generous with hugs and kisses, and loves to be around people (especially his mommy).

His favorite things to do...dance (he twirls around - it's too cute), eat bananas, and play with his toys. He is into anything to do with cars, trucks, trains, planes, or animals. This kid is 100% all boy.

Since we couldn't give him a million bananas to sleep in his crib, we converted it into a big boy bed. We can get him to sleep in it for naps, but so far, no luck getting him to sleep through the night in it. Still, I think it's pretty cute.

More to tell next month.
