Merry Twistmas

That was the headline in the paper this morning. For more fun and games, take a gander at my office building, which is going to be condemned and likely torn down:

Maybe I should have waited until after the New Year to move back in!

I couldn't believe it when I saw it on the news! Was your house ok???

We were only a few miles away but it never got that bad (at least I didn't think)...just a lot of rain for a bit. We were shocked to see all the damage.

Our house was fine...we didn't even know what had happened until my boss called me a few hours later. This is all so terrible, but THANKFULLY it happened on a holiday. If it had been any other Monday, that place would have been full of people and the story would have been VERY tragic. We are very lucky!

I'm so glad you weren't at work that day! I have a friend who is a police officer in your town. She saw the tornado come down right across the street from where she was sitting in her patrol car. She was terrified and said it definitely sounded exactly like a train coming through.

side note: I'll send you an email with her name in case she ever pulls you over. You might could be able to get out of it by name dropping. :)

Oh. My. Gosh.

I am so very fortunate that you were not in the building at the time. I'm glad that it was your office building and not your home. Guess you'll be able to telecommute again, eh?

Love you mucho, mucho!!

I will be teleworking for 2 weeks with my boss and then in a new semi-permanent office on campus after that. It will probably take at least 2 years for our building to be rebuilt. I'm just glad nobody was hurt!
