I guess it's time to start getting prepared for what's to come - I just signed up for all of the childbirth/childcare classes that the hospital offers and have a ton of books that I need to start cracking on (but they will have to wait until I finish the latest Patrcia Cornwell novel, which might be my last "pleasure read" for some time to come). I'm excited and can't wait to meet little J., but nervous as hell for what's to come (i.e., labor, being a new mom, etc.).
In other news, I think it's about time to give some updates on some of the things going on in my world:
- The baby furniture is arriving tonight! The delivery driver called and said it will be here between 6-9pm. 2 weeks late, of course, but at least I know it will be here soon.
- The autopsy report on my cousin showed that she swallowed approximately 4-5 small bags of cocaine. Apparently she and her friends were being pulled over and for some reason, she decided that it would be better to swallow the drugs than get busted with them on her. Sadly, it cost her her life. The good news (if there is any) is that the police are investigating where the drugs came from and have narrowed the search to her boyfriend, who is also in the country illegally from France. If they can find him, his loser ass will be deported (hopefully not before doing some hard time).
- The cat who got caught in the garage door died on Sunday. :(
- My boss asked me today if I would be interested in taking her job if she decides to leave. The money would be phenomenal, but distance and a change in my priorities will likely prevent me from ever accepting it. It's nice to know she has that kind of faith in me though.
- I took my glucose tolerance test yesterday -- hopefully I pass because I don't think I could go through my pregnancy without sweets at this point, should I be diagnosed with gestational diabetes. In the beginning of my pregnancy, I wanted nothing to do with them, but just last night, I baked a batch of S'mores cookies and ate 7 of them...at 120 calories a pop. While giving up goodies might keep my ass from stretching to the length of a football field, it might make mama very cranky.
I think that's about all I can handle right now. Back to work I go!

Congrats-enjoy the final trimester!
OMG!! it seems like you were just telling me!
in some ways, that was the best trimester for me. I finally looked pregnant, no matter what I wore (i don't pop out very much)...which was better than just looking like i needed to suck my stomach in.
these last weeks will fly. sleep all you can!!!!!
Yay!! Glad to hear the nursery furniture is finally arriving! I bought a new coffeemaker online from Amazon.com along with a box of pods (it's one of those Senseo thingys), and the pods were shipped by the post office and got here on Monday -- a week early! The coffeemaker itself got here today, four days early. Sometimes the Fates love ya! :o) Sorry to hear about your cousin and the cat. Both things suck. :o(
Enjoy the last few weeks of your pregnancy! I can't believe Gracie is nearly 18 months old already. Where does the time go??
Yay for the third trimester!
I am so sorry about your cousin. I am also sorry about the poor kitty.
Congrats on the job offer, though it sounds like you might not take it. It still feels good knowing someone thinks you're good enough to do the job.
Hope the glucose test turns out okay so you can indulge as needed.
Thanks!!! :D
