Fleeing the Country

What an exciting and stressful day this is!

Once again, we're facing another hurricane. While it isn't projected to affect us much at all, I still am worried sick about it. Daytona Beach (where my parents, sister, and friends live) and Orlando (where my brother and more friends live) are just getting over Charley and here comes Frances. And even if it doesn't hit near Daytona Beach, it could hit in Palm Beach County, where my older siblings and aunts and cousins all live.

I'm actually fleeing the country. I leave today for Scotland, where I'm giving a presentation at a conference. How cool is that?!? This is both exciting and stressful -- exciting because it's Scotland, but stressful because outside of the United States, who knows what kind of news I will be able to receive?! I'm going to be worries sick until this thing passes.

My husband is supposed to join me this weekend - he's flying out on Saturday and set to arrive on Sunday...IF tropical storm force winds don't close the airport. This could screw up our vacation plans.

Of course, that's the best of the worst that could happen. The worst of the worst would be everyone we know losing their homes!!!

Guess I'll be doing a lot of praying for the next few days. I know I'm not the only one.
