After everything that has happened, I'm still trying to decide how I feel about walking around a campus 5-days a week that has a 6% population of Saudi Arabian students. It's not something I'd ever pondered before, but has now suddenly become an issue.
I know students and alumni from the U.A.E. (United Arab Emirates) and I want to believe that they are not capable of the extreme acts of evil that those hi-jackers wreaked upon our country.
I hope that people of this country are not ignorant when it comes to international relations. There are many US citizens who look ethnic and there are many international citizens who are from the middle east who would never dream of doing the work of terrorists.
Then again, there are many who would. We've got to be careful, but not foolish. I heard today that a local Wal-mart sold out of 3 items this week: bottled water, American flags, and bullets. Pride is one thing, but we need to bring something positive out of this. Even if there seems as though nothing is, we still have to try.
