You absolutely HAVE to love modern technology! We went in today and had a 3D ultrasound done...first off, to confirm that there is no question we are having a boy, and also to have the opportunity to see his sweet little face.
It was such an awesome experience - the ultrasound technician spent a lot of time trying to get just the right pictures of him (and yes, it's definitely a "him"), but the placenta (that weird blobby thing to the left) was in the way. Poor thing was squished between my placenta and uterus, so we could only get profile views of him.
Right now he is in the right position for delivery, so hopefully he stays right where he is. There's not a lot of room in there, so his feet kept getting in his face. He even opened his eyes for us at one point, which the technician said doesn't happen very often during ultrasounds. We got to see him smile and grimace and play with his nose and feet. It even looks like he's going to be born with some hair.
As of right now, I'd say he's going to have my cheeks and my husband's chin, but that could definitely change once he's born and gets older. I can't believe we have less than 10 weeks left before we meet this little guy. I can't wait!

WOW!!! I'll have to remember that if I ever have a kid, to get a 3D ultrasound.
Well, if he's good-looking, then you know he takes after his Momma!
Thanks for sharing!

Amazing! He looks adorable already!
loved the picts!! What a sweet pea! Can't wait to meet him!
How exciting! I love the 3d pics-it's great to put those photos side-by-side with the first hospital photos of the baby in your scrap book and see how true to ultrasound is. Did you get a video too?
Wow that is so darn cool!!! I had two ultrasounds done -- one at 10wks, then another at 20 wks. We didn't want to know the sex, though. But none of our ultrasound pics showed ANYTHING. The 10wk ones were better than the 20wk, surprisingly enough. There was no way you could even identify what parts were the head or the legs or arms in the 20wk ultrasound. Maybe the military will actually cover a 3D ultrasound for my next pregnancy!! :o)
Kelley - yep, we got a DVD. :)
Karyl - they aren't very expensive, believe it or not. It's cheaper than a Coach bag! ;)
