Well, I wanted to stay in bed but hubby was too excited. He was out on the patio with binoculars first thing in the morning to look at the Volcano Arenal. We could hear monkeys, but no sightings.
We left for breakfast and after, had side-by-side massages and mud baths. It was amazing, especially with the setting of tropical plans and open air.
After, we got ready and drove to the waterfall - it was a shaky drive (4 km of rocky road), but worth it. We had to walk down the steep sides of the rainforest cliffs to get there. Hubby went ape when we got to the fall. I played it safe and sat on the rocks - it was just nice to be in such a beautiful setting. The climb back up was pretty rigorous, but it was nice to finally get some certifiable exercise.
We had lunch at an open-air restaurant that had a great view of the volcano. After, we went to the resort and laid out and had a drink.
At four, hubby left for the volcano and I went and got a manicure/pedicure. How nice to be pampered so. The manicurist even painted flowers one nail on each hand and foot. Too cute! While waiting for my nails to dry, I had two drinks at the pool bar and then walked back to the room.
While hubby was gone, I relaxed, read a book and watched the volcano blow. It was SO nice!
When hubby returned, we went for dinner at the resort and then came back to the room. We're both bushed!
What a great day!
