We woke early and packed, then went to the resort for one more breakfast at Tabacon. We took a few more pics and were on our way.
The drive to Tamarindo was HELL! The roads were the worst we've encountered yet! Some of the views of the lake were spectacular though. I read most of the way when my book wasn't shaking too much.
We stopped once to pee and buy souveniers and again to have lunch in a nice little open-air restaurant in Liberia. On the way from Liberia to Tamarindo, the roads got even worse and there was quite a lot of flooding in most areas.
When we got to the Hotel Capitan Suizo, we found out it has rained here for 15 days straight - aak!
We have a really cool room - with a big bathroom and even a sitting area, but unfortunately, no television. We do have a bidet though, which is keeping hubby occupied as I write this (ha ha)!
We made friends with a resident cat and name him Capitan. We went and bought him canned food and now he (or she) is our pet for the next 4 days. :)
I got to see the Pacific Ocean for the first time and we are right on the beach. If not for the rain, this would be yet another paradise.
We drove through the (very tiny) town of Tamarindo and checked out the shops and had ice cream.
Hubby decided to do some laundry the hard way (by hand in the sink) while I read for awhile. I started to help but was told to go away because I'd rather pay to have it done!
For dinner, we ate at the restaurant here at Hotel Capitan Suizo - I had jumbo shrimp and hubby had mahi mahi. Both were out of this world! The food in this country is to die for!
Anyhow, my allergies are acting up and my throat is a little sore - other than that, I'm feeling fat and happy! Praying for sun tomorrow!
