So in August, we bought a new house. As far as I am concerned, I could live here until I am 99 and a half - it makes me that happy. The only problem (besides the white kitchen counters that are impossible to keep clean) is the fact that the house has travertine flooring throughout (except in the bedrooms).
Don't get me wrong...it's beautiful! The problem is that it is wreaking havoc on my bones. All those car accidents from back in my teens and 20s have caught up to me and I feel like I actually am 99 and a half. I can't walk on it with bare feet because I have two neuromas in each of my feet, which I am being treated for - again - with alcohol injections in the nerves (pain you cannot fathom). So most of the time I am either in ugly-ass crocs or orthopedic flip-flops.
I think back to the days when I used to be able to jump out of bed and have energy to go straight to the gym. Not anymore. I get out of bed, put on my shoes, and walk around like an old lady until my joints loosen up.
I am hoping that getting back in the gym and weight training will help. I am too young to feel this old and I really don't look good in crocs.
