A good time was had by all

I woke up this morning thinking I had overslept for work. A 4-day weekend will do that to you, I suppose.

We had a great 4th of July. The fam (my parents, mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law) came over for a grill out and when they left, we took a nice, long nap.

Afterwards, it was off to the fireworks to meet up with J's babysitter, her husband, and their kids. When a nice evening it was! We usually go to the beach, but this year, decided on fireworks on the lake. It was perfect - lots of shade, not so much heat, and reasonable crowds.

When the fireworks started, J freaked out. He doesn't like loud noises, so we knew he might. I had to hold him tight and keep my hands on his ears during the display. I asked him if they were pretty and he kept saying, "No!" Of course, when we got home, it was another story. He can't stop talking about them!
