50 words. He doesn't string many together yet, though he does say "my mama" when he is talking about me, and "my nana" when he refers to my mom.
He is so good when I take him anywhere - my friends can hardly believe it. He's great in restaurants and loves to go shopping. He just chills out in the stroller and smiles at everyone.
He still loves his Baby Einstein videos, but is starting to have an attention span long enough to endure movies as well. Or, at least movies broken down into segments. Of course, this is only limited to digital animated films and those with only animals.
J. is still a mama's boy through and through, but I know there will come a day when he will probably favor my husband. Even so, he is all boy. He loves anything that moves...cars, trucks, helicopters, planes, trains, etc. He also loves taking baths, dancing around, and trying to surf on the elephant rocking "horse" we have for him. The kid has no fear whatsoever.
He is also into giving hugs and kisses now. He is really such a sweet little boy. He has his moments, I can assure you, but overall, he's pretty amazing.

Wow, sounds wonderful. I bet there are a lot of moms out there with tantrum throwing screamers that hate you right about now. With that kind of review, you could almost convince a self-proclaimed childless couple like ourselves to come to the dark side -- almost. :-))))
Thanks for the update on the little cutie.
LOL, MK - since that post, he's started transitioning into the "terrible twos" - it's not an everyday thing, but let me tell you, when you witness it, it might make even the most baby-wanting woman in the world second-guess herself.
Then you see him sleeping and you completely get suckered back into thinking he's perfect again though. It's a vicious cycle!
i totally agree that Jake is a really good baby! (i guess he's still considered a baby, right?) i really enjoyed being around him (and of course you and Stephen) when you came to visit. You're doing a fanatstic job!
