Scotland: Day 13

For once, we were able to sleep in and were spared a "traditional Scottish breakfast." We were off at 11 to head west. We went first to Inveraray Castle (see pic below) - it looked straight out of a storybook! Definitely among my favorites. We passed by Kilchurn Castle as we were driving over to Oban, but there was no way to get to it, so we kept driving.

On our way to Oban, we stopped at the Bonawe Iron Furnace in Strathclyde and Dunstaffnage Castle (see pic above) and Chapel.

We had lunch in Oban - what a beautiful coastal town! After dining at a pancake restaurant, we walked the streets and shopped. On our way back from Oban, we stopped at Carnassarie Castle - it was free (a rarity) and deserted...a very cool and beautiful castle - I even pulled a Girls Gone Wild stunt for my husband! It was a long walk uphill to get there, but definitely worth it.

We continued back and decided to head to Helensburgh for Chinese takeaway. Our first meal at home in 2 weeks! Definitely a great day!
