We went house-hunting this weekend and found exactly what we were looking for. It is, by all accounts, my dream home. Okay, maybe not AS extravagant as my true dream home (which we won't be able to afford until we're really old, if ever), but it's very close.
I knew it was the right house when all I could do after seeing it was daydream about our future in it. It's the kind of house I would have loved to grow up in, and I'm so excited that J. (and future siblings) will have that opportunity. Holidays will be amazing. We'll have kick-ass parties. It's big enough for us to grow into, and I hope we will be there for many years.
The only drawback? The school district sucks. We won't let this be a problem for us though...we'll either send our kids to private school (if we can afford it), or use my MIL's address and send our kids to school in the town south of us. I know it could possibly hurt us when it comes to resale, but I have no plans to even think about selling!
It's still under construction and will be finished sometime in November. I will go back to working in the office in early December. Honestly, I've done a lot of thinking about it and I am ready. My mom will watch J. twice a week and my MIL will watch him 3 days a week, so we won't have to put him in daycare (my greatest fear).
So, lots and lots of changes going on! J. is sleeping and I'm supposed to be working, so I'd best get back to it (though I really want to take a little nap instead).
