Doesn't have to be Sirius

I have come to absolutely detest Howard Stern. Not because he's a bad person, or because I don't think some of his stuff is funny (though definitely not all of it). No, it's because my husband force-feeds him to me every time we are in the car.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love my husband more than anything in the world (and more than anyone in the world who isn't 3 months old and also living in my house). Honestly, he has very few (if any) habits that annoy me. But ever since he got Sirius satellite radio, that's all he ever wants to listen to.

He's out looking for a new car today and called me up to tell me about his progress. He's decided on a VW Passat and says, "All of the 06 models have XM and all of the 07 models have Sirius."

It makes perfect sense that the 06 models will be cheaper. Probably by a few thousand dollars. My response, "I hope you are not basing the decision on which car to get on Howard Stern."

He said he wasn't, but me thinks he is.

If you pass a new Passat on the road and see a mom in the back seat with her baby wearing headphones...then you will know what year car he bought.

Sorry. I'm with him. I love Howard and would love to trade my XM for Sirius just so I could get Howard back. I would totally choose the 07 model for this reason and this reason only.

You *know* I'm on your side! How 'bout you buy an XM MyFi (Xm2go) like I have and mount it right next to or near the Sirius in the Passat. That'll learn him!!!

Bwahahaha!!!

I mean, if he just liked Sirius over XM because there were more channels [notice that word is plural] then I could understand. But to choose Sirius over XM just because of ONE channel regardless if it's got Howard or not is a little silly. [in my opinion]

Love ya!

ps-- a Passat?!?! That doesn't seem like a "Stephen" car!!! LOL!

Here's what we did...and will probably do again. Two years ago, G. got the whole XM system installed in the Expedition, so it looks like a factory one. It was more than I would have spent, but he likes crap like that. So if you save enough on the '06, just have the old one taken out (EBAY!!!) and have the new one put in!

I'm with Kasey...I love me some Howard (and I don't mean anna nicole's stupid attorney either)!

Be very, very careful w/the passat, I think they have MAJOR reliability issues. What about an Acura TL??? It seems everyone I know has it as their second car, and they have great reliability! Not to mention, they are so beautiful, they make me sing! Same car i'm trying to talk Cory into!

OMG, C., you must be psychic! Stephen went onto Consumer Reports last night and wasn't happy with the Passat's review, so he's turning his attention to the Acura TL. Too funny!

He has a portable Sirius radio for the car (works with your radio), so I guess I'm stuck with Howard forever. Ho hum.

I personally don't need satellite radio...I'm addicted to my iPod!

I vote for the Acura too. Mine has been great!

Kasey could be a spokesperson for Acura, hers has been so good! If I wasn't the old lady in the shoe, I would totally have a TL (no! an RL...why the hell not?). You know you have a big family when all you can consider is a minivan (thank God G. talked me down from the minivan ledge, so don't worry), surburban, or a Land Cruiser (Oh beautiful, for spacious Land Cruiser!)

I'm going to go visit the Acura site and cry a little. Beautiful little Acura sedan, will you ever be in my future???

I'm excited for you guys! You must find a way to steal it from him. Make up some b.s. about how it's even safer for Jake because of roll-over fears! Ha! Promise me I can drive it when you have your new house partay...BEFORE the partay, of course.
