When I was a kid, I absolutely loved hurricanes...if they threatened, it meant school was closed. It was also fun when my dad boarded up all of the windows...made it seem like we were living in a giant cave or something. Then again, when I was a kid, there wasn't a single devastating hurricane to hit the state of Florida, so it was easy to find fun in them.
As an adult who owns a home in Florida, my love of hurricanes has definitely gone south. Especially since the last two years have been absolutely unbelievable in terms of the sheer number of hurricanes and the strength and intensity of the ones that have hit. Florida has seriously had enough (and let's not even get started about the Gulf Coast...those poor people).
Anyhow, the point of my posting is that I have one exception...it looks like the first tropical storm of the year is aiming for Florida as I type this. There is a chance it could hit our area. Normally this would be cause for concern but right now, I can only be excited. #1, because it's expected to make landfall on Tuesday (see posting below for why this is a special day) and #2, because a drop in pressure as substantial as a tropical storm could make my water break and put me into labor!
So, if I haven't had the baby by then, I will be praying for my water to break and subsequently for fast route to the hospital, electricity at the hospital when we get there, and a tropical storm that does very little damage. Just don't expect me to name my son Alberto.

well lets hope it (the storm) remains unnamed!
good luck!
Jake Alberto...it has a certain ring to it.
Hopefully, the storm will stay a depression... no harm, no foul.
Good luck gettin' Jake to make an appearance soon!
Love ya!
