Instinct or insanity?!?

I think my nesting instint has kicked in. It started last night around 10pm, when I decided to clean out the closet in the guest room and the hallway linen closet. This morning, I cleaned out the guest bathroom cabinet. Then this evening, I cleaned out my bathroom closet, reorganizing shelves by type of product (medicine/first aid, skin car, nail care, hair care, etc.) In between all of this, mind you, I was doing laundry, cleaning the kitchen floor on my hands and knees, cleaning the patio furniture and grill outside, and many other things I can't remember at the moment due to a slight case of pregnancy brain.

Anyone who knows me knows that this isn't normal activity for me. Yes, I love an organized closet and a clean floor, but I'd much rather pay someone to do it than do it myself. It's like I've been possessed by the evil husband in Sleeping with the Enemy or something!

Yup, sounds like nesting to me!
I'm with you on paying other people to do it. If I could afford it, I would, too.
Happy Nesting! ;o)

Get everything done while you feel like it! That is the only time, in my WHOLE life, I've actually felt compelled to clean and organize.

G. said to me the other day, "Can't wait till you're pregnant again, so I can have an ironed shirt." Yep, I never iron anything for him (despite the fact we have things divided up so he handles the outside things and since I stay at home, I handle the inside things...which, technically, I guess ironing is inside stuff). The one time he found me ironing his shirts was after work one day...he said that meant we were going to have the baby right away. I laughed at him and said, "No way! I'm not nesting, I just felt like ironing." Sure enough, my labor started that night!

Be very, very careful as you get closer to your due date not to over do it. With A., I cleaned so much (no napping, stayed up late) right before he was born, that I was completely exhausted. You'll have to seriously MAKE yourself stop and take a nap...bizarre, I know.

Oh my God, that was so funny. I'll buy your plan ticket and make you guacamole if you'll come over to my house.

Aaaah, now the previously non-existent guacamole becomes a bribe. This will be interesting.

Amongst all that cleaning, did you find the probe? Or did the aliens take that with them when they left??

LOL.

Maybe you should do the walls next. I'm in love with Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I go through boxes of them every time I move. Soooo much fun! I don't know what is going to happen to me if/when I'm ever pregnant!!

Christine - If there is one thing that I absolutely DO NOT do, it's iron. Anything that needs to be ironed in my household gets drycleaned, plain and simple. If I start ironing shirts, then lightning might strike before the baby is born.

Cory - my desire to nest has passed, unfortunately. If it comes back, I'll hop a plane to see you ASAP. Oh wait, I don't think I'm supposed to fly anymore. You might be out of luck for this pregnancy. Catch me the next time! ;)

mk99 - you'll have to read Christine's blog for the guacamole conversation. Check it under the heading "You know why Cory is a bitch?"

Michele - just because I'm from Jupiter doesn't mean that I've been probed by aliens. Truth is, they took it with them when they left.

Kasey - too late. The urge has left me...though I am having fun with my new bottle of Clorox Anywhere spray. Christine would be so proud!

Between the Lines by Debbie Gibson.

I still can't get that out of my head. LOL

I definitely think that nesting has kicked in. Enjoy the work out, getting your heart rate up is good for baby! I can't wait to see a picture of your first baby. There is something extra special about bringing your first into the world that you just won't appreciate until you are bringing subsequent children into the world.

Enjoy every single minute!
