Vegas, Baby!

So, here I am still in Vegas...a tired girl indeed. I am leaving tomorrow, and not a moment too soon. While I think this is a fun city (who wouldn't???), I'm so ready to get home to my honey!

I had such high expectations for the fun I was going to have while I was here. It ended up being fun, sure, but not as fun as I'd expected. For one thing, my Boo (a very pretty gay male friend of mine) was supposed to be here -- things came up at work and he wasn't able to make it. Then, the one night that my friends Jenny and Brad were in town, I got SUPER SUPER sick.

At around 4pm on Tuesday (right after the Harrison Ford incident), I started feeling the familiar pain of acid reflux. I took 3 Rolaids and they didn't spell relief (can I sue?)...instead, it got worse. At around 6:30pm, as I was waiting in line to get on the elevator, I got that horrible feeling you get when you KNOW you are going to blow chunks. I ran to the closest bathroom and did just that.

The university was having a party at the Star Trek Experience and I thought I would start feeling better after throwing up and then taking 2 Pepcids. Not the case. I ended up running to the bathroom many times to get sick. While all of my favorite colleagues/friends were taking a limo out to a trendy restaurant, I was in my room, puking...for hours. It finally subsided at around 10:30 that night.

Soooo, that left Wednesday night and tonight to go out and do stuff. With all of my friends gone, I had to hang out with two of my co-workers. Wednesday night, we had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory in the Forum Shops and did a little shopping. After, we headed over to check out the Bellagio and were too tired to go anywhere else. Tonight, we had dinner at New York New York and then walked down to check out Paris and the Venetian (and did more shopping).

The best part of this trip (second only to the Harrison Ford incident), is that the university president now knows who I am, and even told the trade show coordinator that he was glad I was there and that he wants me to be a rep next year. For a man who is never satisfied, that made me feel pretty damn good.

Anyhow, as I look out my hotel window at the bright lights from the strip, I can't help but wish I were HOME sleeping right now. Luckily, this is the last time this year that I will be doing anymore work-related travel, other than going to the office. Maybe by next year, my feet will have forgiven me for this trip...or, they'll come out with shoes that are comfortable AND stylish...but I won't hold my breath.
