Today, we ventured to Kilravock Castle (now a B&B but we snuck on the grounds to take pics) and then to Cawdor Castle (my favorite so far) - it was so beautiful. It had a real hedge maze and the most beautiful garden we've ever seen. After the castle, we went to Nairn, a small town on the North Sea. We walked the beach and had lunch at a little cafe there.
We then headed to Fort George to walk around the fort - it was very cold and windy but beautiful. We then went back east, attempting to visit Brodie Castle (see photo), but it was closed...and then visited the Dallas Dhu Distillery (fun video, free booze).
We headed back west, attempting to visit Stuart Castle (it was private) and then into Inverness to have dinner at a Chinese restaurant. Stephen had kung pao chicken and I had sweet and sour chicken - both were the best we'd ever had!
It's now 7:30 and we're back in the room to relax and turn in early. Tomorrow, we head to Isle of Skye!
