Scotland: Day 2

Today, I went on a tour arranged by my employer - we went up through the Highlands and back, stopping in Callendar, Fort William, Fort Augustus, Inverness (there was a mall there), and Dunkeld. It would have been a fun trip except that: a) the tour guide never shut up, b) we only stopped at crappy tourist traps for the most part - anywhere cool that we stopped was only for a brief while, and c) we passed lots of castles but never got to see any up close. I can now say though that I am a pseduo expert on Scottish history!

We got back at almost 9pm, so Linda, Frank, and I walked down to find something to eat. We ate at a seemingly cool place called Biblios - the service was awful though. After the three of us were finished with dinner, it took 20 minutes for our waitress to come over and clear our plates. When we asked for the dessert menu, she said, "Sorry, the kitchen closed 20 minutes ago." I wanted to smack her!

Since we were determined to have dessert, we stopped at a bakery before going back to campus. Stephen is in transit and should be here in the morning - can't wait!
