After a very long and exhausting flight (over 8 hours near a crying baby - what more can be said?), I finally made it to Edinburgh. When I got to the university (University of Edinburgh) where the conference was being held, they told me I couldn't check in for 3 hours. So, I walked around the city and then returned to campus to have lunch. The city is pretty cool - lots of shops and restaurants and historic buildings - lots of hills to climb as well.
I checked in and let's just say that the room was less than adequate. There was no radio, no tv, nothing on the walls. The bathroom was so tiny that there was a drain in the middle of the room - like a middle school locker room!
I napped for about an hour and received a call to have dinner with Frank and Linda (Linda is my mentor, whom I absolutely adore...Frank is her husband). We ate at an Italian restaurant and then walked back to campus. I called Stephen and then was off to sleep.
