We needed this vacation more than anything in the world! It is SO NICE to not have to think about work, wedding plans, or anything at all for that matter! I can't remember being this relaxed! Not since hubby and I visited Key West back when we first started dating!
We ventured to downtown San Jose today - bought lots of neat souveniers and saw some interesting sights. I really wish my Spanish was better. I should have paid more attention in class, but most people here do speak some English, or at least empathize with us stupido Americans!
I did get a little sick today - my GERD acted up - probably from eating so much yummy fruit. I felt much better after a nap though.
The food here is so amazing - we've been eating all our meals at the hotel here and everything is superb! The Hotel Grano de Oro is first class and they treat the guests like royalty.
The city was a little dirty but all in all, very cool. So many zapaterias! What is it with the Spanish culture and shoe stores?
Anyhow, can't wait to get out into the gorgeous countryside tomorrow! It will be sad to leave this amazing hotel, but nice to get out of the city.
We're off to a wonderful start!
