Today, the weather was awful so after a little beach time (under the canopy), we decided to head to Wilmington for the afternoon.
We had lunch at a great little restaurant called The Pilot House. They had the best shrimp and grits and cornbread! We then spent some time walking the River Walk. We saw a Coast Guard ship up close and the USS North Carolina Battleship Memorial from a distance. Then, we stopped for ice cream.
On the way back, we picked up a few pounds of shrimp and my sister-in-law made an awesome shrimp orzo for dinner.
It would have been a relaxing evening except that the kids were winding each other up, pushing each other's buttons. Both kept getting hurt because they were acting so rambunctious. THIS is why J needs a brother or sister!!!
