Today is my 11-year marriage anniversary. I say marriage and not wedding, because 11 years ago today, my husband and I tied the knot at the Justice of the Peace Office. Our big wedding was a year and 3 months later. We celebrate the big wedding as our real anniversary, so this year will be the big 10.
Most people know about this. We've only made it a secret to my husband's grandmother, as she equates marriage outside the Catholic church as a sin worse than co-habitation. Too funny.
I remember the day like it was yesterday...we went to the JP, with two of my husband's friends from the Army as witnesses, and afterwards went to some steakhouse for dinner. After that, my new husband went to a friend's house to work on his boat. My dress was lime green with white flowers.
Now you can see why I'm all for celebrating the big wedding!
