Gimpy Sperm

Well, I went back to the RE today to have my catheter removed - yeah, that was fun! I guess it could have been worse, but having anyone pull anything out of your cervix while you are wide awake can only be described as torture.

The nurse explained to me that when the RE did the hysteroscopy, he discovered that my cervix was basically sealed shut, which explained why he could not make any headway when doing the trial transfer. Hopefully the catheter will help keep it open up until the time of my actual transfer. If not, he will likely have to do my transfer under anesthesia (which would be okay by me, to be honest with you).

I then learned that my husband's sperm morphology is 3%, which means we will need to have ICSI performed. When I broke the news to my husband, I could tell he was a little shocked...his "boys" were just fine the last time he had them tested! I reminded him of some of his bad habits, like wearing tighty whities and jumping in the hot tub. I think it hurt his ego a bit and now he swears he won't do anything else to hurt them. Too funny!

To me, it was kind of a relief...it all makes sense now why we weren't getting pregnant! How could we with gimpy sperm that had nowhere to go?!?
