J. has finally arrived! He was born on Friday, June 16th at 9:54pm via c-section after a long, unsuccessful labor (right to the end, he didn't want to come out), weighing 8 pounds, 1 ounce. He's 19.5 inches long and is healthy and very alert. If I do say so myself, he is absolutely beautiful. Pictures do him no justice! He has my dad's nose, his dad's feet and his mom's cheeks and hands, cobalt blue eyes (which may or may not change), and a full head of hair. We are absolutely in love with him!
We were released from the hospital this morning and everything is going great so far. It's going to take awhile for me to recover from the surgery and for us to adjust to parenthood, but Stephen is an incredible father, which makes things a lot easier.
Thank you so much for all of your well wishes. I will post more when I have time...right now, he's in the nursery screaming his little head off with dad and I feel compelled to see what's going on.

Oh is he cute. Cherish the times he falls asleep on your chest. It goes by waaaaaaaaay too fast. I'm sad for my newborns. I wanna relieve that (just not the midnight stuff!).
