Bigger isn't always better

This morning, I was shocked at the realization that I have gained 21 pounds so far in my pregnancy. I was doing so good until about 3 weeks ago, when I started gaining 3-4 pounds a week. At this rate, I'm going to be a water buffalo by the time my son is born!

To make matters worse, my boobs are growing at a similar pace...I am *thisclose* to having to break down and buy a DD cup. My advice to ALL women out there...DO NOT have a boob job if you still plan to get pregnant. Had I followed my own "hindsight induced" advice, I'd be pushing a ripe D cup right now, which would be just fine by me.

Pregnancy boobage is just wacky to begin with. I was a D all through high school and college, then moved into a DD. I have just recently gotten professionally fitted at Nordstrom's, and I come out to an F (aka DDD). When I was pregnant, I was professionally fitted at a nursing bra store for nursing bras, which I think was the best thing I ever did. As the cup size gets larger, the differences in size between brands gets more and more noticeable. If you have a professional picking out your bras, she knows whether you need a D in one brand when another brand will fit better in a DD. Of course, nursing didn't work out with me and Gracie (kind of hard to nurse when your milk never comes in!), but I would recommend getting professionally fitted for nursing bras if you plan to nurse your baby, especially since you are on the larger size. The right size bra can make the difference between only slightly sore boobs and extremely inflamed, painful boobs suffering from clogged milk ducts, etc.

I second Karyl's post. preg. does seriously do some bizarro things to your whole body...boobs included. you know it's pretty nuts when I actually am busting out of a D cup. I'm the queen of small B cups normally.

oh, and I pray you escape this part...the after-nursing shrink. Yep. I swear they used to be a large B, but after nursing A. for 15 months, I was a small B. Can't wait to see what i'll be after this go-round. And you-know-who wants another baby. Good Lord, I'll be a negative A cup after that.

I know nothing about pregnancy boobs. I know I've been as big as a DD and as small as a C (currently). And I'm quite content with what I got. If only they were perky....

Thanks for the advice, ladies! Okay, so maybe I shouldn't feel SOOO bad that Victoria's Secret says it's time for a DD ... maybe there are other brands out there that will keep me in a D. Of course, comfort is the primary issue here. I usually sleep with jog bras on, but need new ones because the larges just ain't cutting it anymore.

C - maybe that's one plus to having store-bought boobs...they can only shrink so much after breastfeeding. But watch, with my luck, they'll stay huge and I'll have to get a breast reduction! ;)

I so know what you are talking about. I am baking my third baby in three years and I've started to fall out of my bra and it PISSES me off! LOL Sometimes I think that I am living in a cloud of frustration, then I realize that it is just pregnancy hormones.
