The Baby Nursery Decorating Gods Love Me

Even before I got pregnant, I had an idea of what I wanted my baby's nursery to look like. If it was a girl, I wanted it to be lavendar and green with a butterfly theme and if it was a boy, I wanted a nursery with blue and green in an airplane theme.

As soon as I found out I was having a boy, I started combing the online stores looking for the perfect airplane theme. Pottery Barn's was too realistic. I didn't like the colors in the set at Babies R Us. So I settled on a set that Lambs & Ivy had. I liked it, but wasn't in love with it. Mostly, it was the navy blue and red that I wasn't crazy about. But, I would have settled for it if necessary.

Then something happened. First, my friend, Debbie bought me a blue blanket that had a little airplane with green accents on it that Carter's made. I was in love with it. A few weeks later, my friend, Adriana bought me the same blanket. Then, believe it or not, on Friday, I got the exact same blanket in the mail from my friend, Jessica! That gave me the epiphany to register for it and mark it as purchased so nobody else would buy it for me.

When I went onto the Target website to register for it, I discovered that in the last week or so, they put out a whole nursery bedding set in this design. Then this weekend, I went to three different Targets to find all of the pieces for the whole thing, even discovering a mobile that wasn't listed online!

Our baby furniture should be arriving any day now. I CANNOT WAIT to decorate the room!!!

Just found your blog --very cute! I like your tagline: "The musings of a crazy pregnant chick who has nothing better to do"...

As a mom of three little ones, I say enjoy the "nothing better to do" for AS LONG AS YOU CAN!

Hope you are taking time to sleep because after that baby comes, you will not know real sleep again for like five years!

Cute, cute nursery theme.

C - You know me, I'll be posting pics. Speaking of which, you should send me some of your nursery for inspiration!

MM - Yeah, I know that those days are coming to an end in a few months -- and when they do, that tagline will be SURE to change! Funny you mention sleep because that's what I did all afternoon. I know EXACTLY what you're saying! :D

Very cute. Be glad you found it now, not after you bought the other stuff. Or have you?

Luckily, the only piece we'd bought was the window valance and we're able to take that back. Like I said, the Gods of Baby Nursery Decorating love me! :)

Maybe you could take the 3 matching blankets and stitch them together to make one giant comforter? Just a thought.

Glad you found a pattern that you like. It's difficult enough to find bed linens for our own grown-up bedrooms at times.

M - I took back one of the blankets and will keep one saved for when the first gets ruined (which I'm assuming might be inevitable at some point since babies are messy).

You're lucky to ever see me sew a button back on, let alone a comforter! Plus, the bedding set comes with a quilt that is absolutely adorable. :)
