My 30th birthday was great! On the evening of my birthday, my husband, parents, siblings, and friends from work went out for happy hour/dinner. I got all kinds of nice gifts. While I never expect anyone to get my ANYTHING for my birthday, it's funny because you can totally tell who considers you important in their lives and who doesn't by who remembers you birthday and who doesn't. Honestly. I'm someone who NEVER forgets a birthday - EVER...but I find you get tired of making the effort to send a birthday card every year when others don't reciprocate. It doesn't even have to be a birthday card via snail mail - e-mail works fine too. Acknowledgement is all I'm talking about. There are those people out there who (like my older brother) say, "I'm really bad about remembering that stuff" and to them I say, "It's no excuse!" Is it THAT hard to write a date on a calendar and make a phone call?!? Okay, enough about that...that's NOT why I decided to post an entry...apparently though it bothers me a little - don't you think?!? ;)
Okay, so in other news...some good, some bad...
Good News
* My work is creating a position for me so that I can telecommute and still work there - the best part is that there is a potential raise involved!
* We're trying to have a baby again!
* The drywall is up on our house and it should be ready within 45 days!
* I might not have to transfer to another university to finish up my master's degree!
Bad News:
* Our house hasn't sold yet. Never...I repeat...NEVER try and sell a home through Buy Owner - they suck!
* I'm not preggers yet (although the positive side of this is that trying sure is fun)
* I've gained back a few pounds that need to GO - however, even though I'm still 10 pounds less than I was a year and a half ago...phew!
* The Gators lost tonight against FSU - need I say more?!? Other than that, all is relatively well. I don't feel older...honestly. Okay, maybe a LITTLE bit. But that should subside once I get my fat ass out of this chair and start working out again.
